first WWFF activation went better than expected, some questions though

so i finally did my first WWFF activation last weekend, been meaning to try it for ages after a buddy at the club mentioned it. went out to a state forest reference here in the midwest, set up my KX2 with a linked dipole strung between two trees and just started calling on 40m. honestly wasnt sure what to expect but the pile up came pretty fast once i spotted myself on the WWFF spotter network.

ended up with 44 QSOs over about 3 hours which i think qualifies the reference? i read somewhere you need 44 to get the activation counted but im not 100% sure on that. logged everything on paper because i forgot to charge my tablet the night before, classic. also had a couple of stations come back to me saying they needed that reference for their award which was pretty cool to hear.

anyway a few things im still fuzzy on — do i need to submit the log to both WWFF and any national program like USFF separately, or does one cover the other? and is there a time limit on how long after the activation you can upload the log? left my notes in the car and only just found them lol

congrats on the first one, 44 QSOs is exactly the threshold yep, you got it. for the logging question — in the US you'd be uploading to USFF which then feeds into the global WWFF database, so you dont really need to do both separately. just get it into the USFF system and it propagates up. the adif upload process is pretty straightforward once you've done it once.

as for the time limit, theres no hard cutoff that im aware of but the sooner the better just so chasers can get credit. ive waited a couple weeks before when life got busy and nobody came after me with a pitchfork. just log into the WWFF logbook portal and follow the steps, took me maybe 10 minutes the first time. welcome to the addiction by the way, ive done probably 30 activations at this point and still get a kick out of every one

nice work. paper logging in the field is underrated honestly, i still do it sometimes even though i have the app. easier to just write fast when the pile is moving. did you find 40m stayed open the whole time or did you have to hop bands at all? i usually bring a simple 20m setup too just in case propagation is doing weird things
