Welcome to Ham Radio Base, a community built for amateur radio operators, enthusiasts, and learners around the world. Our goal is to provide a respectful, informative, and engaging space for all things related to ham radio.

By participating in this community, you agree to follow the guidelines below.

1. Respect the Community

Treat all members with respect and professionalism.

  • No harassment, bullying, or personal attacks

  • No hate speech or discrimination of any kind

  • Respect differing experience levels (new operators and experts alike)

  • Keep discussions constructive and civil

Ham radio is built on cooperation—our community should reflect that.

2. Stay On Topic

Keep posts relevant to amateur radio and closely related topics.

Allowed topics include:

  • Radios, antennas, and equipment

  • Licensing (e.g., Technician, General, Extra)

  • Modes (SSB, CW, FT8, digital modes)

  • Emergency communications

  • Contests, POTA, SOTA, WWFF

  • Shack setups and technical discussions

Off-topic or unrelated content may be removed.

3. Follow FCC Rules and Legal Standards

All content must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including those set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

  • Do not promote illegal transmissions or frequencies

  • Do not share instructions that violate licensing rules

  • Do not encourage interference or misuse of radio spectrum

We support responsible and lawful operation at all times.

4. No Spam or Self-Promotion Abuse

We allow sharing—but not spamming.

  • No excessive posting of links or advertisements

  • No misleading or deceptive promotions

  • Affiliate links must be clearly disclosed

  • Repeated self-promotion without contribution will be removed

If you’re promoting something, make sure it adds value to the community.

5. Share Accurate and Helpful Information

Help maintain a high-quality knowledge base.

  • Provide accurate, verifiable information when possible

  • Clearly label opinions vs facts

  • Avoid spreading misinformation

  • Be open to corrections and discussion

This is especially important in technical and safety-related topics.

6. Protect Privacy

Respect your own privacy and that of others.

  • Do not share personal information (yours or others’) without consent

  • Do not post call signs tied to private details without permission

  • No doxxing or attempts to identify anonymous users

7. Keep Content Appropriate

All content must be suitable for a general audience.

  • No explicit, violent, or offensive material

  • No illegal content

  • No abusive or disruptive behavior

8. Use Proper Operating Etiquette

We encourage adherence to standard amateur radio practices:

  • Follow proper on-air etiquette

  • Use correct call sign identification

  • Respect band plans and frequency usage

  • Promote good operating habits

This helps both online and on-air communities thrive.

9. Moderation and Enforcement

Our moderators work to keep the community safe and productive.

Actions may include:

  • Content removal

  • Warnings

  • Temporary suspension

  • Permanent bans

Decisions are made at moderator discretion to protect the community.

10. Reporting Issues

If you see a violation of these guidelines:

  • Report the content using built-in tools

  • Or contact the moderation team directly

We review all reports and take appropriate action.

11. Changes to Guidelines

These guidelines may be updated at any time to reflect community needs and legal requirements. Continued use of the site means you accept any updates.
