anyone else just sitting on 40m watching the band die

so its been a weird week for conditions honestly. been parking myself on 40m most evenings after work and its just... quiet. like unusually quiet. caught a few stations out of the midwest earlier but nothing exciting. starting to wonder if its just my antenna or if everyone else is seeing the same thing. running a dipole at about 30 feet so nothing fancy but it usually pulls in more than this. maybe its the season idk. anyone else noticing this or am i just missing the good openings because of work

yeah 40 has been kinda meh lately for me too. though i did catch a nice pile up on saturday around 7.250 or so, some dx station i couldnt quite make out the call. my noise floor has been terrible this week though so that doesnt help, neighbors got some new LED fixtures or something and they're absolutely killing me below 10mhz. your dipole at 30ft should be fine for regional stuff at least

I actually had a pretty decent run on 40 Tuesday night, worked a few guys in Canada and one station down in Florida which was cool for me since im in Ohio. Maybe try later in the evening like 9 or 10pm local, thats when I usually start hearing more. Also what direction is your dipole oriented? that matters more than people think
