Proper SSB audio bandwidth settings - what are you using?

I've been experimenting with different transmit audio bandwidth settings on my IC-7300 and getting mixed feedback from other stations. Currently running 100Hz-2700Hz passband, but wondering if I should narrow it down to reduce splatter on busy contest weekends. What bandwidth settings are you all using for SSB phone? Also curious about the trade-offs between audio quality versus spectrum efficiency - seems like there's quite a debate on whether wider is always better.

I keep mine at 300-2800Hz on the TS-590SG. Setting high pass to 100Hz helps avoid puffing sounds, though too much bass makes you sound muddy and wastes power. During contests I'll narrow to 400-2500Hz to be a good neighbor.

Wider bandwidth sounds better, but limiting frequencies to those contributing to intelligibility improves impact - reducing response to 300-500Hz bottom and 2.7kHz top helps. Your 100-2700Hz is pretty wide for SSB work.

Been running extended SSB (eSSB) at 50Hz-4kHz for local ragchewing and it sounds fantastic. But I switch back to standard 300-2700Hz for DX work - SSB audio sounds thinner than AM but remains quite intelligible for weak signal communications.
