JS8call has replaced PSK31 as the keyboard to keyboard mode, but I'm curious about real-world experiences. JS8Call is fantastic for actual conversations! It extends FT8 with keyboard messaging, relays, and network communication using the same robust 8-FSK modulation. Much more engaging than PSK31's current activity level.

Tried newer modes like Olivia and Contestia but less activity there. PSK31 still has decent activity and I encourage others to try keyboard-to-keyboard modes. Both have their place depending on your goals.

PSK31 and JS8Call both allow proper conversations if that's your style. PSK31 excels at weak signal work and ragchewing with its text-based keyboard communication. Try both and see what fits your operating style.
