Been running something similar but with IC-7300 and higher power. Your QRP approach is interesting - what kind of range are you seeing on 40m with 5W into what antenna system? Considering downsizing m

Great to see real-world testing being documented. Running an RMS gateway is rewarding work - sysops regularly save lives, help medical missions, and support emergency communications. Your portable app
Just deployed an Emergency Winlink Gateway during our county exercise using Xiegu G106 HF rig with LiNK500 modem for RPR, backed up by Starlink Mini for internet connectivity to CMS. Running QRP at 5 watts, served multiple operators during the simulated outage scenario.
The EWG acts as a bridge between radio-connected users and internet-based Winlink CMS, allowing email over radio with or without internet access. System can operate radio-to-internet or radio-only mode, storing messages locally during outages and auto-forwarding when connectivity returns via RMS Relay. Power consumption was excellent on LiFePO4 batteries.
Anyone else running similar hybrid setups? Interested in comparing power budgets and deployment strategies.
