anyone going to the Tri-County hamfest next month?

 Loading...

so the Tri-County hamfest is coming up on the 14th and im debating whether its worth the drive, its about 2 hours from me and last time i went a few years back it was kinda underwhelming honestly, mostly old CB gear and not much in the way of actual ham stuff. but a buddy from the club said they supposedly have more vendors this year and there's gonna be a VE session in the morning which i need anyway for my upgrade exam. anybody been to this one recently or know if its gotten better?

went last year and yeah its definitely picked up, there was a guy selling a whole table of Yaesu gear, some of it looked pretty well kept. also ran into someone from my old club i hadnt seen in like 3 years so that was cool. the VE session filled up fast though so make sure you pre-register if you can.

2 hours is kinda rough for a maybe. i usually just check if any of the big name dealers are tabling before i commit to anything more than like 45 mins away lol. that said swap meets are honestly half about just running into people you know so depends if your club friends are going i guess
