anybody going to the Dayton area hamfest next month

 Loading...

so our club is trying to organize a carpool situation for the hamfest coming up and i figured id post here too in case anyone else from this area is planning on going. last year we had like 6 guys show up and it was a blast, found a pretty clean HF rig for way less than i expected and one of the elmer types in our group talked me out of buying like three things i didnt need so that saved me some money lol

anyway if anyones going or knows if the swap meet portion is still happening this year let me know, i heard they scaled it back a little but not sure if thats true

yeah im planning to go, drove up last year too and it was worth it. the swap meet is definitely still on from what i saw on the club website, maybe smaller vendor area but the tailgating part should be the same. bring cash obviously and get there early if you want the good stuff because by noon all the decent gear is gone

i went two years ago for the first time and honestly had no idea what half the stuff was but it was still really cool just walking around. ended up buying a random antenna tuner from some old guy who spent like 20 minutes explaining how it worked. never made it back since but been meaning to. how far of a drive are you coming from
