anyone going to the hamfest in dayton area next month

 Loading...

so ive been trying to figure out if its worth the drive this year, last time i went i picked up a barely used kenwood ts-590 for way under market price so it kind of spoiled me lol. my buddy says the swap meet side of it has gotten smaller over the years but i dunno, i still think theres good deals if you get there early enough. anybody going from around the ohio/indiana area? might try to carpool if someone is heading that way

yeah im planning on it, went last year and honestly the tailgate stuff is still pretty solid if you show up like right when gates open. saw a guy walking out with a whole stack of old heathkit gear which i was kicking myself for missing. our club is doing a table again this year selling off some donated equipment so stop by if you see the W8 something banner, cant remember the exact spot we got assigned yet

I've never actually been to a big hamfest before, been a tech for about 8 months now. is it worth going even if you dont really have money to spend? like can you just walk around and look at stuff or is it mostly for buying and selling
