anyone else just enjoying the hobby lately without any real goal

so i was sitting out in the garage last night with the ft-891 just spinning the dial on 40m and honestly it was just nice. no contest, no dx chasing, no specific reason. just listening to a couple of guys on a ragchew net somewhere in the midwest talking about their gardens and old trucks. i dont even know why but that kind of stuff hits different after a long week of work. like theres something grounding about it. anyway just curious if anyone else goes through phases like that where youre not really trying to accomplish anything hamwise and its still somehow the best session youve had in a while

yeah man that's basically my whole hobby at this point lol. i gave up chasing awards a few years back and just kind of do whatever sounds fun that night. some nights its wspr just to see where my signal is going, other nights i park on a frequency and wait to see whos around. 40m ragchews are underrated honestly, you hear some wild stories from old timers

this is actually what got me into ham radio in the first place and then i spent like two years obssesed with dxcc and forgot about it. maybe i should just go back to spinning the dial for a bit. been feeling burned out on the whole chasing thing tbh
