so i finally worked up the nerve to check into the local 2m net last tuesday and i think i messed up a few things. first off i gave my callsign once and then just waited and the net control asked me to repeat it which was a little embarrassing. then when they asked if i had any traffic i wasnt sure what that meant exactly so i just said no which i think was right? but then afterward someone came on and said their name and location and i didnt do that and im not sure if thats expected or optional.
also the whole thing felt really fast, like net control was moving through check-ins quick and i felt rushed. is there like an unwritten script people follow or do you just pick it up over time? nobody was rude or anything i just felt like i was winging it while everyone else knew exactly what to do.
