QRV App vs Traditional DX Cluster Tools - What's Your Take?

I've been using the new QRV app on my iPhone for the past month, and it's completely changed how I chase DX. QRV (I am ready) is your essential ham radio multitool built for DX success and maximum operating efficiency. It pulls spots from multiple sources, has great QRZ integration, and the notifications actually work reliably.

Before this, I was juggling between DXwatch.com on my phone browser, separate QRZ lookups, and trying to keep track of everything. Anyone else made the switch from traditional cluster websites to mobile apps? What's been your experience?

The live spots from PSK Reporter feature is particularly impressive - much faster than refreshing web pages constantly.

I'm still old school with DXWatch's web-based cluster service on my laptop next to the rig. Nothing beats having it on a big screen where I can see more spots at once. Though I admit the mobile notifications would be handy when I'm away from the shack.

QRV sounds great but full QRZ data requires an XML and/or API subscription. As a new ham still building my station, every subscription adds up. Are there good free alternatives that work well for basic DX spotting?

Been using QRV since beta and the customized notifications for specific bands and DXCCs has been a game changer for contest prep. Set it to alert me for needed multipliers only - cuts through the noise perfectly. The Apple Watch integration is surprisingly useful too.
