POTA Spotting Apps - SOTAMĀT vs Ham2K PoLo Comparison

Getting into POTA activations and trying to figure out the best mobile spotting solution. I've narrowed it down to two options: SOTAMĀT and Ham2K Portable Logger (PoLo).

SOTAMĀT is for licensed amateur radio operators who want to self-spot SOTA or POTA with or without internet! It supports spotting 7 different ways, including over HF. The ability to spot via FT8 when there's no cell service is incredible.

On the other hand, PoLo posts spots not only to the POTA spotting network, but also to the WWFF spotting page which is perfect for dual activators. PoLo is an extremely versatile logging application designed for portable amateur radio operations. It is currently available for Android and Apple devices.

Which one are you using and why?

Cannot believe how well SOTAMĀT works! No cell coverage. 8-10 skimmers pick up my FT8 signal. By the time I've tuned back to my POTA frequency and called CQ, I'm already spotted! It's like magic - definitely worth the learning curve.

I use PoLo for logging and love how it uses the device's GPS to automatically select the closest park reference. For spotting though, I just use the official POTA spotting website at pota.app - this is the official spotting website for POTA. Simple and reliable.

As someone new to POTA, I started with just clicking re-spot on pota.app and updating it with information when I heard activators. Both apps you mentioned look advanced - maybe I should stick with the basics until I start activating myself?
