Our club rolled out a different meeting format by streamlining the business portion to allow for scheduled program and discussion activities, but we're still struggling with attendance. I've seen other clubs do homebrew nights which seem like a fantastic opportunity to share passion and celebrate the DIY spirit that makes amateur radio rewarding. What activities have worked well for your club to keep members engaged beyond the usual "show and tell" presentations?

POTA has been extremely popular - our club started a challenge that grew into multiple statewide events. Try organizing group activations or have members share their portable setups. We also do presentations on off-grid communications like LoRa and Meshtastic which get people excited about new tech.

Fox hunting is always a hit! You can even do it without specialized equipment - use conventional 2-meter gear or cell phones to find WiFi transmitters. It gets people out of the meeting room and working together. Plus newcomers love the hands-on aspect.

Our club participates in community service like helping churches with meal packing events. It's great PR for amateur radio and gives members a sense of purpose beyond just radio activities. We also do public service projects like supporting local races and barrier-breaking events.
