I went from a swan 350 to the ic7300 about 3 years ago and honestly wish id done it sooner. Yeah theres menus but the basic operation is still just tune and talk. The waterfall display alone is worth

ft991a here and love it. sure the 7300 gets all the love but the 991 does 2m/70cm too which is handy for checking into nets. the touch screen took some getting used to coming from knobs and switches b
been running a ts520 for like 15 years and finally ready to upgrade to something with digital modes built in. narrowed it down to these two but cant decide. the icom seems more popular but the yaesu has more bands built in which might be nice down the road
anyone made this jump from tube era stuff? wondering if the learning curve is gonna be brutal or if its pretty straightforward once you get past all the menu diving
