anyone else notice band conditions been weird lately?

maybe its just me but 20m has been acting strange this week. yesterday around noon i could barely hear anything then suddenly it opened up like crazy around 4pm. heard stations i never hear normally. then today its dead again. solar cycle doing weird stuff or what?

    yeah ive been seeing the same thing on 15m too. propagation has been all over the place. checked the solar indices and theyre not showing anything unusual but something is definitely off. worked a JA station on 20 yesterday morning which shouldnt happen that time of day

    Could be atmospheric ducting or some other weird prop mode. I dont pretend to understand all that stuff but when conditions get wonky like this its usually something meteorological going on. Try checking different times of day, sometimes you get surprised.
