remotehams sdr setup - weird latency issues

ok so ive been running my remotehams box for about 6 months now and everything was working pretty good until last week. now im getting this strange latency where the audio is like 2-3 seconds behind what im seeing on the waterfall. makes it really hard to work any digital modes or even cw for that matter

my internet connection at the remote site is supposed to be 50/10 and at home im on gigabit fiber so bandwidth shouldnt be the issue. anyone else run into this kind of thing? wondering if its something on their server side or if i messed up a setting somewhere

running the latest client software on windows 11 if that matters

had similar issues last month and it turned out to be buffer settings on my end. try going into the audio config and bumping up the buffer size to like 512 or 1024 samples. yeah it adds a tiny bit more delay but it smooths out those weird spikes

also check if you have any other streaming stuff running in the background, netflix or whatever can mess with the QoS even on good connections

This sounds like jitter buffer issues to me. I've seen this with several remote systems when there's packet loss or inconsistent routing between sites. You might want to run a continuous ping test to see if you're getting dropped packets.

The RemoteHams system is pretty sensitive to network conditions - much more so than something like TeamViewer or other remote desktop apps. Even 1-2% packet loss can cause the symptoms you're describing.
