what does QRT mean again

i keep hearing people say QRT on the air and i think i know what it means but not 100% sure. is it like signing off or something? also whats the difference between that and 73

QRT means you're shutting down your station, going off the air. so yeah basically signing off. 73 is just best wishes, like saying goodbye to someone but you could say 73 and keep talking to other people. QRT means you're done for the session

oh man i was using QRT wrong for months lol. i thought it just meant end of conversation. so if im working a net and need to drop out early i should say QRT? or is that only when im completely done for the night
