anybody going to the hamfest in Dayton area this spring?

 Loading...

so ive been thinking about making the drive out to Xenia again this year, went a few years back and had a blast but the parking situation was kind of a nightmare. wondering if anyone else from around here is planning to go and maybe wants to carpool or at least meet up at the fleamarket section in the morning before it gets too crowded. last time i scored a really clean HF rig for way under market price just by showing up early and walking the outside tables before the doors even opened inside.

also does anyone know if the local club is doing a group thing again this year or did that fall apart like it did in 2022

yeah im going, been going most years for probably the last decade. the trick with parking is just get there like an hour before gates open and you'll be fine, its the people who show up at 9 that end up walking from the overflow lot. the outdoor flea market is honestly where all the good deals are anyway, indoor vendors tend to be priced like they know what they have lol

not sure about the club carpool thing, havent heard anything at the last couple meetings but could ask around

this will actually be my first hamfest if I end up going, been licensed about 8 months now and keep hearing people talk about how great Dayton is. little intimidating honestly, dont even know what im looking for yet. maybe just antennas and cables or something for the shack
