anybody going to the dayton hamvention swap area this year or is it not worth it anymore

so ive been going to dayton on and off for like 12 years and honestly the last couple times the swap area felt pretty picked over by like 9am. used to be you could find real deals on old rigs and random parts but now its mostly guys asking ebay prices for stuff thats not even working. still thinking about making the trip just for the club meetups and running into people i only talk to on the air normally. anybody else going this year or have thoughts on whether its still worth the drive

went last year for the first time and honestly i thought it was pretty fun even if the prices were rough. the inside vendors are where the real stuff is imo, found a barely used tuner for way less than i expected. the swap meet outside is hit or miss depending on what time you get there and honestly what day too. saturday morning early is probably your best bet if youre hunting for anything specific. also the club forums and presentations inside are underrated, sat through one on POTA activations and learned more in an hour than i had in months of reading online

yeah the flea market aint what it was, thats just the reality. everyone knows what their old drake is worth now becuase they checked ebay before they loaded the car. but i still go every year, mainly to see club guys from all over. our local club usually does a dinner saturday night and that alone is worth the trip honestly. if youre driving more than like 5 hours probably think hard about it, if youre within a reasonable range i wouldnt skip it
