Experience with RemoteHams community vs DIY remote setup?

Been researching remote station options and torn between joining the RemoteHams network for instant access to stations worldwide versus building my own remote setup with wfview and my IC-7300. The RemoteHams partnership with FlexRadio looks impressive, but I'm concerned about sharing time with other operators. For those who've tried both approaches - what are the real-world pros and cons? I need full integration with Ham Radio Deluxe for digital modes and logging.

I've used RemoteHams software with my FT-991A while traveling for work - works great but you're limited to their available radios and locations. DIY gives you complete control over your own gear and no time restrictions.

Started with RemoteHams to learn remote operating, now run my own setup. wfview with IC-7300 is excellent - exposes hamlib interface that works with most logging software. The learning curve is steeper but you own the entire signal path.

For emergency communications, DIY is the only way. RemoteRig works well through firewalls and NAT - critical when operating through various internet connections during deployments. You need gear you can troubleshoot and repair yourself.
