stuck at 10wpm and getting frustrated

been practicing morse for about 6 months now and im stuck at around 10wpm. started from nothing and got to 5 pretty quick but now its like hitting a wall. ive been using lcwo and some phone apps but feels like im not making any progress lately. want to get to at least 15-20 for general upgrade and maybe some contests eventually. anyone else go through this plateau thing? what did you do to break through

oh man i remember that wall well. took me forever to get past 12wpm and i was ready to give up. what helped me was switching from character counting to word recognition - instead of hearing dah-dit-dah-dit and thinking K, i started training myself to just hear the rhythm as the letter. also recommend getting on the air with slow cw nets even if you feel like youre not ready. W1AW code practice helped alot too, they have 5-35wpm sessions

Same boat here! Been stuck around 8-10wpm for months. I started doing head copy practice instead of writing everything down and that seems to be helping a bit. Also found this youtube channel that does word drills at different speeds. The plateau is so annoying though, feels like youll never get past it but everyone says it clicks eventually
