ic-7300 vs ft-991a for first hf rig?

been looking at these two for my first hf radio and cant decide. the icom seems more popular but the yaesu has vhf/uhf built in which might be handy. both are around the same price used. anyone have experience with both? im mostly interested in ssb and maybe some digital modes eventually

had the 991a for about 3 years now and really like it. the all band thing is nice since you dont need a separate 2m/70cm rig. waterfall display is decent and the dsp works pretty well. only complaint is the fan gets loud when you run 100w for a while but thats probably normal

honestly cant go wrong with either one but if i had to pick id go with the 7300. the panadapter is really nice and icom generally has better resale value. the 991 isnt bad but that tiny screen for hf work gets old pretty quick. plus if you want vhf/uhf later you can always get a dedicated mobile rig that'll probably work better anyway
