finally got my license last week

been studying for months and passed my tech exam last tuesday. got my callsign yesterday and made my first contact this morning on 2m repeater. guy was super patient with me even though i was nervous and probably said my call sign wrong a few times lol. feels pretty amazing to actually be on the air after all that studying

congrats on getting licensed! first qso is always memorable. dont worry about being nervous, we've all been there. the community is pretty welcoming to new folks. you'll find most hams are happy to help newbies get comfortable on the air. what's your next goal, general maybe?

nice! i remember my first contact too, hands were shaking so bad i could barely hold the mic. that was about 6 months ago and now i'm on the air almost every day. 2 meters is great for getting started but once you get comfortable you should try some hf frequencies if you can
