okay so i passed my tech exam like three weeks ago and ive been reading through part 97 trying to figure out what HF privileges i actually have and honestly its kind of confusing. i know techs get some HF but i cant figure out exactly which bands and modes are allowed. like i thought i could do SSB on 10 meters but then someone at my club told me techs cant do phone on HF at all which doesnt sound right to me. also whats the deal with 40 meters, i keep seeing people say techs can use it but only for certain things? im not trying to get in trouble obviously just want to understand what the rules actually say before i key up anywhere

i passed mine like 8 months ago. just used the ham study app on my phone honestly, did like 15-20 minutes every night before bed for maybe 3 weeks. when i was consistently scoring above 85% on the practice tests i went and took the real thing. got a 33 out of 35. dont overthink it, the pool is totally public and the test literally comes from it so theres no reason to study anything else imo

so i finally did my first WWFF activation last weekend at a local nature reserve about 45 minutes from home. ive been eyeing it for a while since it popped up on the WWFF directory as an unactivated reference here in my country. took my FT-891 and a linked dipole up a little hill inside the reserve and set up near the trailhead where i had decent clearance. managed to get 47 QSOs over about 3 hours which i was pretty happy with for a first go, mostly 40m with a bit of 20m near the end when the band opened up nicely. spotted myself on the WWFF cluster and that definitely helped the pile get going. logged everything in HAMRS which i know some people have issues with but worked fine for me. my question is about submitting the log afterwards. i uploaded to WWFF Logsearch but im not sure if i did it right because it says the reference is still showing as unactivated? i waited like 3 days. do i need to do something else or just wait longer? also wondering if theres anything special about the ADIF tags i should be checking before i upload.
