This means that at just 4800 baud, the raw data rate is actually twice that of D-STAR, or 9600 bits per second. AMS function breaks down into the following operating modes that are fully selectable by the radio user: AUTO — where both RX/TX mode is automatically selected from one of four operating modes (DN, VW, DW, and FM) to match the characteristics of the received signal.
