so the Tri-County hamfest is coming up on the 18th and im trying to decide if its worth making the drive. last year i picked up a decent MFJ tuner for like 20 bucks at the swap tables but the year before that it was pretty picked over by the time i got there. does anyone know if theyre doing the flea market tables again or is it mostly just vendors this time? i heard the club that runs it changed hands or something and the format might be different.

yeah im planning on going, me and a couple guys from the local club usually carpool down. from what i heard on the repeater last tuesday they are still doing the tailgate swap meet but you gotta register for a table ahead of time now, no just showing up with stuff in the trunk like the old days. honestly the vendor hall is kinda the same every year but you never know what some old timer is gonna drag out of the garage for the flea market tables.

I went two years ago and it was my first hamfest ever, got totally overwhelmed lol. ended up buying a Yaesu HT i didnt even need just because it felt like i had to buy something. if you go early like right when it opens thats when all the good junk table stuff goes.
