As a newly licensed General, I'm trying to understand my responsibilities as a control operator. Part 97 defines the control operator as an amateur designated to be responsible for transmissions from a station to assure compliance with FCC Rules.
But what does this mean practically? If someone uses my station and violates a rule, am I liable? What about remote operations or guest operators?
The rules mention local control, remote control, and automatic control - each requiring different approaches to achieve compliance. Can someone break down these control types and what my actual responsibilities are in each scenario?
