anyone going to the dayton hamvention swap meet area this year

 Loading...

so ive been going to hamvention for like 6 years now and i always end up spending most of my time in the flea market area anyway, never really bother with the indoor vendors much anymore. wondering if anyone else is planning to go and wants to maybe meet up saturday morning before it gets too crazy crowded out there. last year i picked up a barely used IC-7300 for way under market price from some guy who was clearing out his shack and i keep hoping lightning strikes twice lol. also our local club is doing a carpool from dayton area if anyone needs a ride, we usually leave around 5am which sounds brutal but honestly the early bird thing is real when it comes to the swap tables

yeah im planning on going, third year for me. the flea market is absolutely where its at, the indoor stuff is cool to browse but the deals are outside. my buddy found a working Kenwood TS-830S last year for like 80 bucks, dude didnt even know what he had. meet up sounds good, whereabouts do you usually start, like which entrance or gate area?

I've done Dayton more times than I can count at this point. Word of advice if you're newer to the flea market side of things — bring cash, small bills, and get there before 7am if you can manage it. The good stuff walks out fast. Also don't forget to check the tail end of the day too, people start practically giving things away when they dont want to haul it back. Got a mint condition dummy load and a bunch of coax connectors basically for free one year just hanging around til closing time.
