First WWFF activation went better than expected, few questions though

So I finally did my first WWFF activation last weekend at a state forest near me (KFF reference) and honestly it went way better than I thought it would. I was super nervous about the whole thing because I'd only done a handful of POTA activations before and wasn't sure how different the WWFF side would be. Set up my little endfed on a squid pole, ran about 25 watts on 40m and picked up 20m later in the afternoon when 40 started dying.

Got my 44 contacts which I know is the minimum for a valid activation but now I'm reading that for WWFF the logging requirements might be a little different than what I'm used to with POTA? Like do I need to upload to a specific system or does the ADIF from POTA Hunter work fine? I logged everything in paper first then transferred it but I want to make sure it actually counts.

Also noticed a few hunters were asking for my grid square which I wasn't really prepared for, is that something WWFF activators usually give out or is that more of a general thing people ask regardless. The park itself was gorgeous by the way, saw a couple of deer right next to my setup which felt very on-brand for flora and fauna haha.

Congrats on the activation, 44 in a day on 25 watts is solid especially if conditions weren't great. For the logging side of things, WWFF uses its own database at wwff.co and you'd want to upload there separately from POTA. They accept ADIF but you need to register and submit through the WWFF logger or just the upload page on the site. The two programs are kind of parallel and don't automatically talk to each other even if the park has both a KFF and a WWFF reference, which a lot of state forests do.

The grid square thing is just hunters being hunters, some people collect grids for various awards and they ask everyone regardless of what program you're activating under. You dont have to provide it but if you have it handy its a nice bonus for folks. Sounds like a great first outing though, the wildlife sightings are half the fun honestly.

yeah i had the same confusion after my first one lol. the wwff and pota overlap is real and took me a while to sort out. one thing i'd add is make sure you log the actual reference number correctly in the ADIF header because ive seen people upload with just the park name and it gets rejected or needs manual fixing by the admin. not a huge deal they're pretty responsive but just saves hassle. also 20m in the afternoon is usually the move if you want some dx contacts which can be fun to chase when you've already hit your minimum.
