so ive been on 40m most evenings this week and something just feels off, like propagation is doing something strange. some nights i can hit europe no problem from the midwest and then the next night i cant even work the next state over. been doing this long enough to know solar flux and all that but this past month has been all over the place even by normal standards. not complaining exactly just curious if anyone else is noticing or if its just my setup acting up again

yeah 40 has been funky for me too, im in the pnw and last thursday i worked a station in japan at like 9pm local which almost never happens for me on that band. then friday total garbage couldn't even hit the local net reliably. i think the solar flux has been bouncing around a lot, saw it dip into the 150s then spike back up. makes everything unpredictable.

honestly i just assume the bands are always weird and work with whatever i get lol. been hamming for about a year and a half now and i dont think ive ever had two identical nights. my elmer told me to just log everything and eventually youll start seeing patterns but so far it all just looks like chaos to me
