so its like 9pm local and ive been parked on 7.200 for the last hour just listening, maybe throwing out a call every now and then. nothing. couple of guys in ohio talking about their lawnmowers for a while but thats about it. i remember when this band was wall to wall on weeknights. maybe its just my location or the solar conditions lately but man it feels quiet. not complaining really, kind of nice to just have the radio on while i do other stuff, but also makes me wonder if everyones just on FT8 now or what.

yeah FT8 pretty much ate 40m SSB alive on weeknights. pull up WSJT and youll see like 200 signals stacked up down around 7.074, its honestly kind of wild compared to how dead the phone portion sounds. i still prefer a good ragchew but cant argue with the numbers i guess

lol i was literally doing the same thing last tuesday. ended up just leaving it on as background noise and fell asleep on the couch. my wife came in and thought i was listening to some weird talk radio. 73 from ohio btw, might've been us talking about the lawnmowers haha
