anyone else just sit and listen more than transmit lately

not sure why but ive been spending way more time just scanning around 40m in the evenings than actually getting on and talking. something relaxing about it i guess. heard a couple dx stations working a pileup last night and just sat there for like an hour listening to the whole thing play out. didnt even try to get in. maybe im getting lazy or maybe i just enjoy the listening part more than i used to.

anyone else go through phases like this or is it just me being weird about it

yeah honestly same. winter nights on 40 are just good radio. i'll fire up the rig after dinner and just kind of drift around for a while. sometimes i key up sometimes i dont. its not laziness i think its just the hobby doing what it does for you that day.

I do this all the time on 80m. There's this one net I never check into but I've been listening to for like two years. Know all the regulars by their voice at this point lol. Never felt the need to jump in, it's just kind of background company while I'm doing stuff around the shack.
