anyone else just sit on 40m and listen for hours

so i dont even know why i do this but some nights i just fire up the rig and tune around 40m and just... listen. not really looking to make contacts, just kinda vibing i guess. heard some guy working what sounded like a station in ukraine last night, conditions were surprisingly decent for how late it was. anyway just curious if anyone else does this or am i just weird lol

oh man yes all the time. especially in winter when its dark by like 5pm theres nothing better than just tuning around with a cup of coffee. 40m at night is like its own little world. sometimes i catch stuff on 80m too if im feeling adventurous but 40 is my comfort zone for sure.

yeah i do this too. my wife thinks im crazy sitting in the shack just listening but honestly its relaxing. havent even transmitted in like two weeks, just been monitoring. caught some interesting traffic the other night around 7.255 or somewhere around there, couldnt quite make out where they were from but the signal was strong
