anyone else just sitting around listening lately

so ive been on a bit of a kick lately where i just tune around 40m in the evenings and dont really call anyone, just listen. not sure why but its kind of relaxing honestly. caught a guy working some DX last night around 7.230 and just kind of followed along for like 45 minutes. didnt log anything, didnt transmit. just listened like the old days when i was a shortwave listener before i got my ticket.

anyone else do this or am i just getting lazy lol

yeah i do this more than i actually operate anymore. 75m late at night when the nets wind down, theres usually some old timers just ragchewing about nothing and its kind of nice to have on in the background while im doing other stuff in the shack. sometimes ill key up sometimes i wont.

honestly same, i think i spend more time SWLing than actually transmitting lol. my wife thinks im "on the radio" but half the time im just tuning around with a cup of coffee. 40m is great for that in the evenings, you never know whats gonna pop up
