so anyway i finally got my antenna situation sorted out after like 3 months of messing around with it and just got on 40m last night for the first time in forever. worked a couple guys down in florida and just chatted for like 45 minutes about nothing really. one of them was telling me about some repeater drama in his area lol. its just nice to actually use this stuff sometimes instead of just reading about it or watching youtube videos about radios i cant afford

anybody else been on more lately or is it just me feeling like i missed it

yeah same honestly, solar conditions have been pretty decent lately so ive been staying up later than i should trying to catch stuff on 20 and 17. got a guy in portugal tuesday which for me on a wire dipole in the backyard is still kind of exciting even after all these years. the repeater drama thing is universal btw, every single club i know of has some version of it going on at any given time

I just got my general last month so I'm still kinda figuring out where to even hang out on HF. 40m at night sounds like the move based on what everyone says. what part of 40 were you on if you dont mind me asking
