anyone else just enjoying the hobby more lately or is it just me

so i dont know what it is but the last few weeks ive just been having a blast on the radio again. been on 40m most evenings just ragchewing with whoever's around and its been really nice. no contesting no dx chasing just talking. met a guy last tuesday who's been licensed since 1967 and we talked for almost two hours about how the bands have changed. anyway just figured id share that, feels like the hobby goes through phases for me and right now its in a good phase

yeah same honestly. i went through like a solid year where i barely touched the rig and now im on almost every night. think it was getting a better antenna that did it for me, the old vertical just wasnt cutting it and i was getting frustrated. put up a dipole in the fall and everything changed. 40m ragchewing is where its at
