anyone else just sitting on 40m tonight with nothing going on

its one of those nights where i just throw the radio on and scan around and theres like... nothing. a couple guys ragchewing in spanish down around 7.200 and some digital stuff further up but thats it. band feels completely dead to me. not sure if its the solar conditions or just a slow tuesday or what. been licensed for about 6 years and i still cant predict when 40 is gonna be good vs totally useless

anyway just figured id post something. anybody else on tonight or is everyone watching tv lol

yeah 40 was pretty rough here too earlier, i caught a little life around 9pm local but it died off fast. tried dropping down to 80 and actually had a decent qso with a guy in ohio for like 45 mins so that was nice. sometimes you just gotta switch bands and stop fighting it

solar flux has been tanking this week i think, saw something about a geomagnetic disturbance but i dont really follow all that stuff closely enough to know if it actually matters for 40. im still pretty new so maybe someone else can explain it better lol
