so ive been on 40m almost every evening this week just kind of browsing around and honestly its been pretty dead where im at. threw out a few CQs around 7.250 and got one reply from a guy in ohio who was barely readable, then nothing. not sure if its just my antenna situation or if propagation has just been garbage lately. been hearing a lot of noise floor junk too. anyway not really complaining just kind of feels like the band goes through these weird quiet spells sometimes. anyone else noticing this or is it just me over here in the mid-atlantic area

yeah 40 has been weird for me too, im out in the PNW and the evenings have been all over the place. some nights ill work half a dozen stations no problem and then the next night its like the band just doesnt exist. solar flux has been bouncing around a lot lately i think thats probably part of it. dont give up on it though i find if you just leave it on in the background and keep half an ear on it something usually pops up eventually

40m dead? thats where i live lol. though i will say ive had better luck closer to 7.1 lately, the phone portion up higher seems quieter than usual. could also just be time of year thing idk im still pretty new to hf so i cant really say for sure
