anyone going to the dayton swap this year or the regional one in april

so ive been trying to figure out if its worth making the drive out to xenia again this year. last time i went i picked up a pretty decent hf rig for cheap but also spent way too much time walking around in the mud. thinking maybe the regional swapfest in april might be less chaotic and closer to home anyway

also our club is doing a thing next month if anyones in the area, its just a casual dinner meeting but were supposed to have someone come talk about portable ops and maybe set up a pota activation the weekend after. details are on the repeater net if you catch us on 146.520 thursdays

yeah dayton is always a mixed bag honestly. i went two years ago and found some great coax deals but the crowds are just brutal now. the regional ones are underrated, way easier to actually talk to people and you dont feel like youre getting trampled. what region are you in? might know the one youre talking about

our club did a pota activation last fall and it was awesome, more people showed up than expected and we ended up with like 4 stations running at once. definitely do the dinner thing if you can, those are usually where you actually meet the interesting people in the club instead of just nodding at each other at nets
