studying for tech exam, where do i even start

so im thinking about getting my technician license and i honestly have no idea where to begin. i downloaded some study guide pdf off google but it seems super long and im not sure if its even the right one or if its outdated. someone at my local club meeting mentioned the question pool changes and i dont want to study the wrong stuff. does the arrl book cover everything on the actual test or is there other stuff i should be looking at too? i feel like i learn better doing practice questions than just reading but i dont know if thats enough to actually pass

ham study dot com is honestly where id point you first, just do the practice exams there until youre consistently hitting like 85% or better and youll be fine. the question pool is public and the actual test pulls straight from it so theres no surprises. the current pool is good until i think so dont stress about that. arrl book is solid if you actually want to understand the why behind everything but you can 100% pass just grinding the practice questions, most people do

i passed mine a few months ago using hamstudy and honestly barely touched the book. took me maybe two weeks of doing practice tests on my lunch break. the electrical theory part tripped me up a little at first, ohms law stuff, but once you see those questions enough times it clicks. just make sure whatever resource your using is pulling from the current question pool, hamstudy updates automatically so thats one less thing to worry about
