Linking My Repeater - AllStarLink vs IRLP vs EchoLink Experiences?
Started with IRLP in 2004 and it's rock solid, but EchoIRLP lets you run both IRLP and EchoLink from one interface box. IRLP supports only one connection but has reflectors for roundtables, uses custom interface boards with Linux, and nodes connect using DTMF codes. Less complexity means fewer failure points.

N1MM vs Log4OM for everyday logging plus contests — anyone use both?
yeah pretty much exactly what you said — i gave up trying to merge everything into one master log a while back. N1MM for contests, period. Log4OM or even just plain WSJT-X logging for the digital stuff day to day. the ADIF import into Log4OM is good enough that i just do a batch import every week or so and call it done. trying to keep one live log for everything sounds nice in theory but in practice something always breaks or duplicates or the timestamps get weird. the N1MM interface thing is real but honestly after a few weekends with it you stop noticing. its ugly but its fast and thats kind of the whole point. i tried using Log4OM in a contest once and by the second hour i was losing my mind waiting for it to do things N1MM does instantly. different tools for different jobs i guess

Trap vs interlaced vs monoband yagi performance analysis
I went from a TH7 to separate monobands and never looked back. The very day I erected the TE43, the bands came alive. I worked stations in Eastern Europe, Britain, the Middle East. It was just incredible how well my yagi worked. Yes, it's more complex with multiple feedlines and a switch, but the performance gain is substantial. Your tower can handle the wind load of separate antennas just fine.

HackRF One vs RTL-SDR Blog V4 for satellite work - real world comparison
The HackRF is great for testing TX/RX when creating with GNU Radio or playing with Arduino modules, but not so great for actual DXing work. For satellite work, you'd probably be much happier with an Airspy R2 or even sticking with your RTL-SDR V3 with a good preamp.

thinking about moving from the IC-7300 to something with more filtering options — worth it?
so ive had my IC-7300 for about 3 years now and honestly its been a great radio, no complaints really, but ive been eyeing the IC-7610 mostly because of the dual watch and the roofing filters. i do a fair bit of contesting and sometimes just casual HF work on 40 and 20, and during busy contest weekends the 7300 starts to feel a little cramped i guess is the word. like adjacent signals bleeding in even when im tweaking the digital filters as much as i can. the thing is the price jump is pretty significant and i already have a decent station otherwise — running into a AL-811H and a hex beam up about 35 feet. so the amp and antenna side of things is solid. its really just the rig itself im second-guessing. anyone made that jump or a similar one and actually noticed a real difference in practice? not talking about spec sheets, i can read those myself, just curious if its a night and day thing in actual use or more of a marginal improvement that sounds better on paper than it is in the shack.

DXwatch vs other cluster sites — what do you actually use day to day
so ive been trying to get more into DX chasing lately and everyone keeps telling me to use the cluster but honestly theres like five different ways to access it and i dont really know which ones are worth my time. ive been poking around DXwatch and it seems decent but i saw some guys on another thread talking about DXcluster.net and also just logging into a cluster node directly via telnet which feels very 1995 but apparently still a thing? also been looking at QRZ's logbook and DX tools — i already have a QRZ account for obvious reasons so it would be convenient if their stuff is any good. does anyone actually use QRZ for spotting or is it more just for callsign lookup. and while im at it, are there any phone apps worth downloading for this stuff or is it all better on a computer screen where you can actually see whats happening. im running mostly HF, have a modest station, just trying to figure out where the action is without having to leave my shack every five minutes to check my phone

BladeRF is full-duplex making it ideal for high performance applications like your repeater work. If budget allows, the BladeRF 2.0 micro would be perfect for simultaneous TX/RX on 70cm. Much better than trying to sync multiple HackRF units.
