anybody going to the dayton area hamfest next month or know whats happening locally

so ive been trying to figure out whats going on event wise around here the next couple months. our club usually does a swap meet in the spring but i havent heard anything from the guys running it this year, emails have been pretty quiet. anyone know if thats still happening or did it get cancelled again like last year

also curious if anyone here is making the trip out toward the dayton area for hamvention or any of the smaller regional fests. i went a few years ago and it was worth the drive just for the flea market tables alone, picked up a barely used tuner for almost nothing. thinking about going again but its a long haul from where i am and id want to actually plan it out this time instead of just showing up like i did before

our club just posted something on the facebook page about the swap meet, looks like its back on for late april but the date wasnt confirmed yet. i think theyre waiting to hear back on the venue, same place they did it two years ago had some kind of scheduling conflict. worth checking if your club has a facebook or a reflector because thats usually where the last minute stuff gets posted

as for hamvention yeah its a whole thing, i went last year for the first time and honestly the flea market is really the best part especially early morning first day. bring cash and get there when they open the gates, stuff moves fast

im actually trying to find a hamfest closer to home that isnt a 3 hour drive lol. the arrl website has that hamfest finder thing but half the listings seem outdated when i actually look them up. found one last fall that was supposedly happening and showed up to an empty parking lot which was not great
