anyone else just sitting on 40m listening to nothing lately

idk man, ive been spinning the dial on 40m most evenings this week and it feels weirdly quiet. usually theres at least a few ragchews going around 7.250 or so but lately its just noise and the occasional digital burst. maybe its just my antenna situation, ive still got the temporary wire up from when i took down the dipole to re-do the feedline and honestly that was like 6 weeks ago so maybe thats just my problem lol. or maybe everybody migrated up to 20m for the fall condx? not sure. just feels like a ghost town compared to even a few months back

yeah 40 has been kinda meh here too, though i did catch a decent pileup last Thursday around 7.195 for some DX station i couldnt quite make out the call. got in there a couple times but no luck. honestly though i think a lot of people have been on FT8 which doesnt exactly fill the band with voice traffic if you know what i mean. your wire situation probably isnt helping either, fix your feedline already haha

same here, been real slow. i just got my tech about 3 months ago and im still figuring out when the bands are actually open so maybe im just not timing it right. someone at my club said 40 gets better in winter? not sure if thats true
