So i was poking around on the Icom website last night after seeing someone mention it on another group and it looks like theres been some chatter about new rigs coming out possibly later this year. I cant find solid specs anywhere yet, just rumors and a few blurry photos floating around. anybody else seen this or know more than I do?

Also completely separate thing — 10 meters has been absolutely wild the last few days. I was just spinning the dial kind of half paying attention and suddenly I'm hearing stations from Brazil and some EU stuff just rolling in. Hasnt been that good in a while, at least from my location. Solar flux must be up because the last few weeks before this it was pretty dead up there.

Not really a question I guess just wanted to share since its been kind of an exciting week for the hobby. Feel free to dump any other news or stuff youve seen here too.

yeah the 10m opening was real, I worked a few JA stations Tuesday evening which honestly shocked me because I barely had the antenna pointed that direction. just a dipole up about 25 feet nothing fancy. solar flux was sitting around 180 something which is pretty solid for this point in the cycle. feels like we might actually be hitting the peak or at least getting close to it.

on the Icom thing i saw the same photos, somebody on one of the dx forums was saying it might be a replacement for the 7300 but who knows, that thing has been around forever and sells like crazy so hard to imagine them rushing a replacement. probably just a new entry level HT or something. i'll believe specs when i see an official press release honestly.

Wait I didnt even know 10 meters was open, I'm so new to this I still kind of forget to check the higher bands. I've just been hanging out on 40m talking to people locally. Does 10m need like a special antenna or can I use what I have? I have a G5RV up in my backyard.
