anyone going to the dayton hamfest this year or know of smaller local ones coming up

 Loading...

so ive been wanting to hit a hamfest for a while now and kept missing them. i think our local club does one in the spring but i honestly dont know if its still a thing, havent seen anything posted about it. anyone know of good ones coming up in the midwest or just generally worth driving to? dayton is always on my radar but its kind of a haul from where i am and i dunno if i want to do it solo. last time i went to a swap meet type thing i ended up spending way too much on an old HF rig that needed more work than i expected but hey it was still fun just walking around talking to people

Dayton is worth it at least once honestly, even if you dont buy anything the sheer amount of stuff to look at is wild. i went a few years back and just kind of wandered the flea market area for like 3 hours. bought some coax connectors and a random SWR meter from some guy who had no idea what he was selling lol. your local club probably does something, most of them do a spring event at least, id just email whoever the club contact is or check their Facebook if they have one, a lot of the older clubs barely update their websites

yeah i think the arrl website has a hamfest finder tool thing, i used it once and it actually had some decent info. found one about 45 minutes from me i never knew existed. pretty small but i picked up a nice mic for basically nothing so cant complain
