maybe its just me but ive been spinning the dial on 40m most evenings this week and its like a ghost town compared to even a few months ago. used to be i could always find somebody ragchewing around 7.250 or so but lately nothing. caught a few guys working some dx around 7.1 but thats about it. wondering if its band conditions or just people drifting off to ft8 or whatever. not complaining about digital modes but i do miss just hearing people talk. anyway if anyones on 40 in the evenings around 8 or 9 eastern give a shout

yeah 40 has been weird for me too, though i think some of it is the solar stuff going on right now. i checked propnet the other night and the path i usually work into the midwest was just not there. tried again an hour later and it opened right up. so maybe just timing. also yeah ft8 ate a lot of the casual operators i think, which is kind of a bummer but whatever gets people on the air i guess

im still on 40 most nights lol. 7.255 area usually. maybe we just keep missing eachother. conditions have been kinda up and down since that big solar flux spike last month, my noise floor went nuts for like three days and i basically gave up for a while
