anyone else just sitting on 40m waiting for something to happen lol

so its a tuesday night and im just spinning the dial on 40m and theres like... not much going on. heard a couple guys ragchewing down around 7.250 but honestly couldnt make out half of it, propagation is pretty rough tonight i think. been a ham for about 3 years now and i still find myself just sitting there with the squelch open hoping something interesting pops up. anyone else do this or am i just weird

haha yeah i do this all the time, usually around 9 or 10pm local. tuesday nights are dead more often than not in my experience. try 7.200 area sometimes theres a loose net that forms up around there, nothing official just guys that kinda drift in. also 40m has been rough this whole week for me too, solar flux is doing something weird i think

im the same way honestly. sometimes i just leave the radio on in the background while im doing other stuff and just listen. caught a really cool dx station from somewhere in eastern europe last week just by doing that, wasnt even paying attention and suddenly there he was coming in loud and clear. so yeah keep the rig on you never know
