anyone else just sitting on 40m listening to nothing lately

idk maybe its just my area but 40m has been dead quiet the past few weekends. used to be able to tune around and find a ragchew pretty easy but lately its just static and the occasional digital signal i cant identify. maybe everyone moved to FT8 and i just missed the memo lol. still love just spinning the dial though, theres something relaxing about it even when nobodys out there.

    yeah same here, though i did catch a couple guys running a net on like 7.235 last sunday morning. think it was a local club thing. 40m isnt totally dead just gotta know when to look i guess. propagation has been weird too lately which doesnt help

    honestly FT8 took a huge chunk of the casual operators away from SSB, thats just reality at this point. i still get on voice but its mostly contests and nets now, the random ragchew thing is pretty rare. kind of sad but what can you do
