i dont know man, lately ive just been parking on 40m in the evenings and just... listening. not really in the mood to ragchew or chase dx or anything, just kind of letting the bands wash over me if that makes sense. heard some guy in ukraine the other night working a pile up, conditions were actually pretty decent for once. didnt call in, just listened for like an hour. there something weirdly relaxing about it even if youre not in the log

anyone else go through phases like this or am i just getting lazy lol

yeah totally, i do this all the time actually. sometimes i just want the noise in the background while im doing other stuff around the shack. its almost like radio as ambient sound? my wife thinks im weird for leaving the rig on and walking away but theres something about knowing the bands are alive even when im not actively doing anything

40m evenings are great for that. you get everything from ragchewers to nets to the occasional weird propagation skip and you never quite know what youll hear next

not lazy at all, i went like 3 months barely keying up last winter. just wasnt feeling it. then one night i randomly called CQ on 17m and worked japan on the first call and suddenly i was back at it every night lol. sometimes you just need a break from the hobby side of it and let yourself just enjoy listening again
